Ultimate Frisbee

Community Parents and Guardians, Learners and GSNZ Staff

Venue Vogeltown Park - 209A Carrington Street, Vogeltown, New Plymouth

Time 5.30pm- 7.30pm 8 week Monday night league, with a couple of ‘give it a go’ nights. ‘Disco Fever’ on WhatsApp

Ultimate, originally/also known as ultimate frisbee, is a non-contact team sport played with a disc (frisbee) flung by hand. Ultimate originated in New Jersey in 1968, just like our very own Whaea Kelly (though, a little earlier). This incredibly fun and exciting sport has found its way into the athletic spirit of Green School NZ sports fans and we now have a regular Ultimate run-around with our mixed teams every Monday.

If there’s still some energy left post game we find a way to release that too, in the words of fellow GSNZ parent “We model how to be ourselves through our actions, we feel the joy, we live it, we share it”.

“A huge acknowledgment has to go to the Green School Eagles and the Diva's for their hard work and commitment this last season to gain success with the Diva's taking our their grade to become grade Champs! The learners have displayed our values throughout the season to represent our community in way that is a positive and true reflection of us all. A special mention has to go Todd and Sarah Flashman as well as Damien Newland and Jackie for their efforts in support this amazing group of Wahine. A massive Ka rawe tino pai! Too much team you are awesome!”
