Evolution
The Green School Campus has evolved significantly since its founders scaled the formerly low production, low input farmland back in 2018. Now a thriving and regenerative landscape showcasing incredible visionary architecture built by locals with respect, passion and grit. Whilst the expansion plans continue and growth beckons, come see the journey the Green School site has taken thus far.
GSNZ Construction Phase One
The construction of the Green School New Zealand campus was challenging and complex, but also one of the most exciting and rewarding components of the entire project.
ArchiPro Visits GSNZ
ArchiPro talks to BOON Managing Director Glenn Brebner about the architecture and design of Green School New Zealand.
Waka
The first structures built on Green School New Zealand land, the original three Waka classroom’s hold a special place on campus. Nestled amongst the regenerated land and varied repurposed buildings on site, the Waka classroom’s have formed the physical learning pathways for students as they go about their day. Each design decision in creating the Waka was made with acute respect to environmental qualities that matched the schools values.
Kina
Green School New Zealand’s Kina is a biophilic-inspired building made up of classrooms and community spaces designed to enhance cognitive function and emotional wellbeing. The first of its kind in the world, the sustainably-built structure applies neuroarchitecture to education in a way that sets a groundbreaking benchmark for learning facilities of the future.
The Land

Green School Farm is a 121-acre non-viable ex-dairy farm that milked a small low production, no input, jersey herd. We graze only small body animals and contract graze local dairy farmers calves and heifers. Green School Farm is a spray free petrochemical fertiliser free property with permaculture values. Our stock is healthy and rigorous and we follow modern science and sustainable systems thinking.
