Orientation & Pōwhiri

Orientation & Pōwhiri

Community Parents and Guardians - voluntary attendance

Venue Bridge to River to Bridge

Time 8-30am-10-30am

Our new staff, learners and their whānau (families) were welcomed to campus before the pōwhiri (a traditional welcoming ceremony) on Monday for a' ‘planting natives’ orientation and Tour. Planting tree signifies the establishment of their roots at GSNZ. As kaitiaki (guardians) of these plants, our new learners will now nurture and support the growth of their natives during their time at GSNZ.
Similarly, our educators also made a promise to our learners to nurture and support them so they too can blossom and thrive with purpose.

Poipoia te kākano kia puawai - Nurture the seed and it will blossom.

We will send out some information on a slide about the pōwhiri (a traditional welcoming ceremony) get in touch for more. See some past Winter term planting examples.
