Green School NZ Receives NEASC Accreditation

The New England Association of School and Colleges has awarded Green School New Zealand accreditations status.

The NEASC accreditation process is a multi-year review intended to serve as a framework for schools to meet their own unique goals for student learning while maintaining alignment with research-based standards for accreditation that define the characteristics of high quality, effective learning communities.

NEASC Accreditation is a unique, immersive, self-reflective process that engages the entire school community and promotes open communication, shared understandings, and a growth mindset. It is the common experience of schools that NEASC Accreditation process is a unifying process. NEASC conducts periodic reviews of its Standards and protocols to stay aligned with educational research, best practice, and governmental regulations, and to remain responsive to members with the culture of excellence established by its founders over 130 years ago, NEASC has become a globally recognised standard of excellence. Students, parents, the public, government, community leaders, and other institutions are assured a school has the resources to provide a high quality learning experience.

The accreditation report provides support for Green School New Zealand to continue the ongoing work of staff and school leaders on strengthening curriculum, instruction, and the quality of programs and services offered to students.

NEASC applauded Green School New Zealand for meeting all 5 Foundational Standards and 10 ACE Learning Principles of the foundational elements for ACE Pathway Accreditation. NEASC was impressed with the progress Green School New Zealand made on priority areas for growth, specifically commending the school for: determination to continually transform education and through creating inquiry-based learning, experiential education and countless situations in which learners are actively engaged in creative problem solving, authentic real-world issues and service learning, Green School New Zealand learners are clearly engaged in their learning, and are being given a degree of autonomy over their learning.
