Where the Wild Things are Nature Days

Every Wednesday our primary learners get outside!
These specialist fire makers to crank up the fire - yip, even in the rain - and cook up some delicious plant-based hot chocolate to share with each other.

Before that, our primary learners may whittle away the early part of the day - literally - with their new whittling kits. Other days are filled with, ‘‘Traditional Skills and Crafts’. Harvesting harekeke (NZ Flax), making ropes and tools, and exploring the idea of aboriginal journey sticks.
There’s always a wonderful, calm atmosphere under their self-constructed shelters - it seems that getting outdoors calms the body and focuses the mind, all while increasing a connection to the natural world!
