Beyond COP21: Engaging Young Minds in Environmental Stewardship
This year, our school had the privilege of hosting the "Beyond COP21" event in Term 1, a remarkable initiative aimed at fostering environmental awareness and action among our students. Traditionally an event for Middle School, we were thrilled to extend this opportunity to our Primary learners for the first time.
On the first day, our young students eagerly participated in a series of interactive learning rotations. These sessions were delivered by esteemed organizations such as Enviroschools, Rotokare Scenic Reserve, Aotearoa Explorers, and D'Arcy Lunn from EiM and also the visionary behind Teaspoons of Change.
The hands-on activities and engaging discussions provided our learners with a profound understanding of environmental issues and inspired them to think critically about sustainable practices. This experience resonates deeply with our school's kaupapa/philosophy, emphasising meaningful, experiential learning. We are proud of our learners' enthusiasm and dedication to making a positive impact on our world.
